I was recently directed to your Matala site.

I suspect that as your book is out, you aren’t collecting memories anymore, but I thought I’d write anyway. I am corresponding with Maria about her documentary.

 

I was in Matala for 3 months, February-April 1968, before the Life article. It was then a sparsely populated paradise. If you’re interested in hearing more, I’ll write more. For now, I just wanted to say hello and ‘dank u wel’ for reawakening in me the memories and spirit of that luminescent time.

Contrary to what Elaine thinks, I do continue to collect memories and pictures of Matala. I hope she writes more and I’m very happy with the pictures she send.
